Fisher’s School is conveniently located 6 miles north of Schuyler on State Highway 15. Nestled in a beautiful rural setting, our school is affectionately known as “the pink school” by local residents. The diverse student population usually averages around 50 students in grades Kindergarten-8th grade. There are four multi-grade classrooms, a library, a kitchen, a large multi-purpose room, a teacher workroom and a basement storm shelter. The large outdoor play area allows students plenty of room to enjoy lots of fresh air, green grass and sunshine. This school is a family-friendly place which provides endless opportunities for parent involvement. We love our Fisher Families!
Fisher’s School boasts an experienced, highly trained and deeply dedicated staff. Our caring teachers are experts at educating children in multi-grade classrooms. They develop a close relationship with the students and build on the individual talents of each child. The staff provides one-on-one attention for struggling learners and for the high achievers as well. The teachers prepare the students to be community leaders through instruction in core subjects along with fun and engaging activities such as educational field trips, guest speakers, puppet shows, skits, a Science fair, art, STEM activities, the Fisher Friends program and so much more. Students use technology as a tool for learning, processing info and for presenting what they have learned. They develop self-confidence through opportunities to participate in vocal and instrumental music, basketball, football, volleyball, track, soccer, cross country, physical education, and the Pizza Hut Reading program. All students perform in a Veterans Day program, Christmas program and a Spring program. Patriotism is encouraged and there are community and state involvement opportunities.
