Last Friday the 6th grade Warrior Time groups celebrated their new trait of empathy with relay races!!!!!
El viernes pasado los grupos de Warrior Time de 6to grado celebraron su nuevo rasgo de empatía con carreras de relevos.

The Warriors took home second place at conference speech tonight with a lot of individual medalists. Congratulations Warriors!

On Friday, children were treated to a live performance by The String Beans, a children's music band during Tots on the Turf. It was a great turnout with lots of families enjoying the show. Thank you to Strong Starts Schuyler for putting on this great event!

The final Tots on the Turf for the school year will be on March 27.

El viernes, los niños disfrutaron de una actuación en vivo de The String Beans, una banda musical infantil, durante el evento "Tots on the Turf". Hubo una gran asistencia y muchas familias disfrutaron del espectáculo. ¡Gracias a Strong Starts Schuyler por organizar este gran evento!

Sixteen 6th grade students were chosen to represent Schuyler Middle School in May as part of the Neligh Honor Band. Those students will travel to Neligh-Oakdale on May 2, as part of the Neligh Music Contest. Congratulations!

Last January, we proudly launched our Video Game Club as part of our After-School Program at the middle school to help prepare our students for high school opportunities—especially joining the Esports Club!

Esports stands for competitive video gaming, where:
✔️ Players compete individually or in teams 🤝
✔️ Games are played in organized tournaments 🏆
✔️ Competitions take place at school, online, or even professionally 🌎

In our Video Game Club, students practice important skills such as teamwork, communication, strategy, critical thinking, and sportsmanship. 💬🧠 Our goal is to prepare them so they can confidently join esports competitions and tournaments in the future.

We are so proud of our growing After-School Program club and excited to see our students develop their talents and passion for gaming in a positive and competitive way! 🌟

El pasado enero, lanzamos con orgullo nuestro Club de Videojuegos como parte de nuestro Programa Después de Escuela en la escuela intermedia para preparar a nuestros estudiantes para oportunidades en la preparatoria—¡especialmente para unirse al Club de Esports!

Esports significa videojuegos competitivos, donde:

This week SMS Staff participated in Underground Dress-up Days. Can you guess what today is?

Last week, SMS hosted a book fair. Through the generosity of the Schuyler Middle School staff, fifty two students received donated books.
La semana pasada, SMS organizó una feria del libro. Gracias a la generosidad del personal de la Escuela Intermedia Schuyler, cincuenta y dos estudiantes recibieron libros donados.

Another 6th grader completed the 40 book reading challenge this week. Proud of her hard work and perseverance!

At Tuesday night's basketball games, Nolan Samek of Bank of the Valley presented Schuyler Community Schools with a check in the amount of $5,000. These funds were raised through the Bank’s School Pride Card Program, which features the Schuyler Warrior Debit Card. Over the past four years Bank of the Valley has donated $19,700 to Schuyler Community Schools through the School Pride Card program. Thank you to Nolan and Bank of the Valley for supporting our schools.

6th graders with Mrs. Arriola had a blast guiding a ball through a paper pipe and aiming it into the bin—no drops allowed! Great teamwork in action.
