Congratulations to the Warriors on senior night! They came through with a 23-22 win over the Wayne Blue Devils! And congratulations to our six seniors!

Schuyler Community Schools has been working on a Competitive Equity Waiver for football for the last two months. In the application we highlighted that our participation average would more align with the class selected. Through the process with the Competitive Equity Waiver committee and the NSAA, SCHS applied to be placed in Class C-2 and be playoff eligible for the current football scheduling cycle, 2026 and 2027. On October 16, 2025 the NSAA Board of Directors met in Hastings and approved our waiver. We are excited that our student-athletes will have new opportunities to build success while honoring the integrity of competition.

Reminder there is no After School Program today, Thursday October 16th 2025. Students will be dismissed at normal time.

SMS students in the Gardening After-School Club wrapped up the first quarter with some fun projects! They learned about floral design and created beautiful bouquets using fresh-cut flowers from the garden. To finish off, each student decorated their own flower pot and took home a baby houseplant to care for.

¡Los estudiantes de la Escuela Intermedia que participan en el club de jardinería después de escuela terminaron el primer trimestre con proyectos muy divertidos! Aprendieron sobre el diseño floral y crearon hermosos ramos con flores frescas del jardín. Para finalizar, cada estudiante decoró su propia maceta y se llevó a casa una pequeña planta para cuidar.

The Middle School Cross Country team ran their final meet of the 2025 season at the Nebraska Junior High Cross Country Championships in Papillion.

Alejandro Ramirez Garcia led the boys' team with a 44th place finish. His finish ranks as the 5th best finish in school history. Congratulations Alejandro!

The boys went on to finish in the top half of the field, finishing in 17th place overall.

The girls' team were led by Alondra Carrera, who finished 71st out of 200 total runners. The girls' finished in 21st overall.

Two 6th graded classes combined for warrior time to do team drawings. All hands had to be on a string tied to a marker while they tried to draw a house and a snowman.
Dos clases de sexto grado se reunieron para la hora del guerrero y dibujaron en equipo. Todos tenían que sujetar una cuerda atada a un marcador mientras intentaban dibujar una casa y un muñeco de nieve.

Good luck to our cross country team as they head to Papillion for state! Girls run at 12:00 followed by boys at 12:50. We are so proud of our Warriors! 🏃🏽🏃🏼‍♀️💚

These 6th grade students were recognized for our word of the month in September, which was responsibility. Then we kicked off October with some teamwork by having a tug of war.

Estos estudiantes de sexto grado fueron reconocidos por nuestra palabra del mes de septiembre: responsabilidad. Luego, iniciamos octubre con trabajo en equipo jugando al tira y afloja.

The students in our Level 1 and Level 2 Newcomers ELL programs met together to celebrate the end of the first quarter. We celebrated our hometowns and home countries. The students gave short presentations using a small book they created. During our time together, we learned where everyone was from, what they love or miss about their home country, and what/if any, their hometowns/countries are known for. One of the most popular items that was shared was the most popular food in the area. We ended the time by trying new food from our homes. We had everything from tamales, pupusas, sopes, and so much more. It was great to get some time to share things about our culture.

Los estudiantes de nuestros programas de ELL para recién llegados de Nivel 1 y Nivel 2 se reunieron para celebrar el final del primer trimestre. Celebramos nuestros lugares y países de origen. Hicieron presentaciones breves usando un libro pequeño que crearon. Durante el tiempo que pasamos juntos, aprendimos de dónde venía cada uno, qué les encanta o extrañan de su país y por qué son conocidos sus lugares o países, si es que tienen alguno. Uno de los platillos más populares que compartimos fue la comida más popular de la zona. Terminamos el evento probando comida nueva de nuestros hogares. Comimos de todo, desde tamales, pupusas, sopes y mucho más. Fue genial tener tiempo para compartir sobre nuestra cultura.

Reminder all buildings have a 1:30 dismissal today due to parent teacher conferences. There is no after school program today.

Due to a time change at the host site, the Schuyler Middle School Volleyball game at Bergan Catholic will begin at 5 p.m. at Saint Patrick's Auditorium for the first match, then will proceed with the other matches at the high school gym at 6 p.m. Thank you!
