Hello Youth Sports Families! Due to Parent-Teacher Conferences next Thursday, Sept. 26, there will be no 5th-6th grade Youth Football practice that evening. Instead, there will be a practice with all Youth Football participants this Monday, Sept. 23, at 6:30 p.m. Have a great weekend!

SMS Volleyball Warrior Queens of the Week: Sophia and Nayelie! Each week we have one 7th and one 8th grader crowned as the “Warrior Queen” for the week. Girls work all week to earn points from challenges, drills, leadership, effort, etc. for their chance to become the Warrior Queen of the Week. At the end of the week the girls with the most points in each grade are crowned.

All three teams that played tonight got a win over David City! The 7A won in 2 sets, 8B, won in 3 sets, and 8A won in 2 sets. It was great to see all the fans there supporting our girls who are working so hard. THANKS! Go Warriors!

Cross Country Wayne meet results: The middle school cross country team competed hard today in Wayne! Lorena finished 20th, Giselle finished 19th, Dayeli 16th, and Johanna came in 7th for the girls team. Edman finished 18th, Alejandro 15th, Abduazize 14th, Adrian 11th, James finished 9th, and Sebastian came in 3rd for the boys. The boys team tied for 2nd overall! Great job Warriors!

SMS Volleyball tonight at Clarkson-Leigh showed lots of hustle, determination, and heart. The 7A team lost the first set and came from behind to win the second and third, making them 2-0 on the season! The 8A team fought back against a good Clarkson team but came up two point short in the end. They girls keep working and improving every day

Results from the 8th grade volleyball games at Walnut Middle School : 8C - lost a close match in 3 sets. It was a really exciting match with some really great serving. Deysi served 6 in a row and Ahilyn served 9 in a row. 8B - won a close 3 set match! After a really slow start in set 1, they played an outstanding set 2 and set 3. Alizon served 10 in a row! 8A - lost in 2 sets. The girls worked well together and overcame some challenges that were thrown at them at the last minute. We had three players, Gisele, Liset, and Alizon, really step up when we needed them to. Grace had some great saves and serves throughout the game.

Back in its rightful home! Schuyler Middle School defended their crown by defending the Yell Cup at today’s Fall Pep Rally at Schuyler Central High School. GO SMS!
