Mr. Cribello's STEM classes had just recently unlocked the compound light microscope’s magnifying power and underwent microscopic investigations to differentiate the features between animal cells and plant cells, which were viewed under Low Power Objective (LPO) and High-Power Objective (HPO). Students got the chance to be exposed to these realms and how life is organized based on its microscopic details. Stay tuned, as they prepare their very own specimens, investigate animal-like protists, and build an understanding of parasitic and beneficial protozoans.

Las clases de STEM del Sr. Cribello acababan de descubrir el poder de aumento del microscopio óptico compuesto y realizaron investigaciones microscópicas para diferenciar las características entre las células animales y vegetales, las cuales se observaron con Objetivo de Bajo Aumento (LPO) y Objetivo de Alto Aumento (HPO). Los estudiantes tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer estos ámbitos y cómo se organiza la vida a partir de sus detalles microscópicos. Manténganse al tanto, mientras preparan sus propios especímenes, investigan protistos similares a animales y profundizan en la comprensión de los protozoos parásitos y beneficiosos.

Last month, Mr. Cribello’s STEM classes used a variety of basic measuring tools, such as meter stick, graduated cylinder, beaker, triple beam balance, dial caliper, and micrometer caliper, which were then used to measure the dimensions of their classroom, volume of regular and irregular solids, masses of the objects, and inside, outside, depth, and step dimensions of small objects. As is customary, they used standards to measure and compare unknown quantities.

El mes pasado, las clases de STEM del Sr. Cribello utilizaron diversas herramientas básicas de medición, como una regla métrica, una probeta graduada, un vaso de precipitados, una balanza de tres brazos, un calibrador de carátula y un micrómetro. Estas herramientas se emplearon para medir las dimensiones del aula, el volumen de sólidos regulares e irregulares, las masas de los objetos y las dimensiones interiores, exteriores, de profundidad y de paso de objetos pequeños. Como es habitual, utilizaron estándares para medir y comparar cantidades desconocidas.
