Reminder there is no school Tuesday, March 12 through March 15th. Parent Teacher Conferences are being held Tuesday, March 12th from 8am to 8pm. Have a great week.

Dear Families, Today, at Schuyler Middle School, a student shouted “He has a gun!” This of course is a serious statement and one we are taking seriously. While it appears that this was a situation of poor decision making on the students' part, we are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of everyone in the building. As always, we will err on the side of safety. I share this message not to alarm anyone but just to communicate what happened today and ensure that correct information is being shared. Today's middle school basketball game at Central City. Will be played in their High School Dome, not at the Middle School. First game will start at 4:30.

Athletic Update - MS Boys Basketball vs Twin River will begin at 4:30 PM with the 8A team playing at 4:30 PM. There will be a possibility of extra quarters to follow, but that will depend on the number of players Twin River has available.

Dear Schuyler Families, Today we were notified of a possible child abduction in a nearby community. This was a situation that was unfolding with more information in a short amount of time. Thanks to our local police chief, and communication with the neighboring school district, we had reliable information. I chose to put our district in “Secure” mode to ensure our students and staff's safety. “Secure” is the practice of keeping everyone inside and only allowing people in the building, or exiting the building, while being closely monitored for safety. I want to thank everyone for your support and cooperation during this event. I will always err on the side of caution and safety when making these decisions. SMS Athletic Update: Due to larger than anticipated numbers, tomorrow’s (2/1/24) MS Girls Wrestling meets start time has been changed. The meet will start at 3:00 PM tomorrow at the Pierce City Auditorium.

Dear Schuyler Families and Students, I just spoke with the Omaha Weather Center regarding tonight and tomorrow’s weather. Tomorrow morning we will have fog but should not receive any of the freezing rain. At this time I am planning on a regular school day tomorrow. Please drive safe and allow yourself some extra travel time with the fog. I will check the weather throughout the night. Dr. Schroder

SMS Athletic Event Update Time Change MS Boys Basketball on Monday 1/29/24 at Scotus Central Catholic. Games will start at 6:30 PM 7th grade will play B followed by A in Dowd Memorial Hall 8th grade will play B followed by A in the Activity Center

The Field House will have adjusted hours today due to the cold weather on Saturday (1/20/24) it will be open from 10AM-6PM. Normal hours will resume on Sunday 1/21.

Tonight’s games vs Lakeview have been rescheduled for Saturday 1/20/24 in Schuyler.
